Riding the Train

Peering out of the window
the mighty sea
taunts me
as it extends from
San Diego to the Bay
to LA
and reminds me
of the great ocean
facing Manila Bay
as its waves curl up
back and forth like flags
during the World Cup
and demonstrations
I am always reminded
beyond the blue horizon
is my homeland
and my sun dried
weather beaten people...
struggling to be free.
