A Friend's Advice

A comrade and friend
once told me: I was
too transparent.
He sung me a song
i still hum today:
"Don't cry out loud
just keep it inside
learn to hide your feelings."
and learned it,
to be funny when i am sad,
to be nice when i am angry,
to be quiet when i am filled
with rage
and inscrutable,
But sometimes
i am not good in masquerade
i am natural
when I am angry,
and i curse,
happy when its fun,
serious when i should be,
and yet i have to
act as he says,
deep inside
unfathomable
and always
be strong.
